Joy Regullano

Joy

Joy is a writer / actor / comedian based in LA who is currently writing on the animated show MONSTERS AT WORK on Disney Plus. Previously, she wrote on JELLY, BEN, and POGO (a PBS Kids web series), KUNG FU PANDA: DRAGON KNIGHT (Netflix / Dreamworks), the Netflix show HEALING POWERS OF DUDE, several Sesame Workshop digital shorts (including this one introducing the first Asian American muppet, Ji-Young!), and she was a Sesame Street writing fellow. TV acting credits include CRAZY EX-GIRLFRIEND, MODERN FAMILY, SPEECHLESS, HOUSE OF LIES, and SUPERNATURAL. She has performed improv and sketch around LA at UCB and Second City Hollywood. Her YouTube sketch WHITE FETISH went viral with 1M+ views and has been featured in the Huffington Post, Upworthy, and more. IG: @joyregullano

Joan Almedilla

Reuben Uy

Joy's Dad

Reuben is an actor of Filipino-Chinese Heritage. He started his career in Manila as a member of the pop group Akafellas. He then switched to acting when he made his debut in the Manila production of the off-Broadway hit Altar Boyz. In Manila, he portrayed many iconic roles, such as Stanley Kowalski in A Streetcar Named Desire, Eilert Loevborg in Hedda Gabler, and Benedick in Much Ado About Nothing. He then portrayed the young upstart JJ in director Sean Ellis’ Metro Manila, (Sundance Audience Award). He is now based in Los Angeles, California. Dahlya Mani

Dahlya (they/them) is a vocalist, musician, dancer, writer, actor, and musical improviser. Proud member of Story Pirates and comedic band, Femmedy Trio (@femmedytrio). Theater: A Wicked Soul in Cherry Hill (The Geffen Playhouse), A Transparent Musical (Center Theater Group workshop),  Emojiland (First Nat’l Tour). Mary Lou

Carol

Mary Lou is a LA-local singer and comedian. She was a child actor for many years (Disney, Nickelodeon, the whole shebang), but took a break from her career to graduate Princeton University with degrees in Art History and Theater. Now back in LA, she’s returned to her first love: comedy and music. She toured around the world doing musical improv with BABY WANTS CANDY and performing in THRONES! THE MUSICAL PARODY (Sydney Opera House, Edinburgh Fringe, Adelaide Fringe). She performed on Maude Night with EMERALD and MOON GOON (UCB), dazzled as Lauren R. in BACHELOR THE MUSICAL (Dynasty Typewriter), and played Sarah Palin in TRUMP IN SPACE, the second-longest running show in Second City Hollywood history. Mary Lou also originated the role of Carol in SUPPORTIVE WHITE PARENTS, who is not-so-secretly modeled after her own supportive white mom. She plays with the Story Pirates, sings and arranges for the Satin Dollz, and supports her adopted and biological children equally. @maryloularymou

Scott Palmason

Jim

Scott is an actor/singer/comedian originally from Seattle, WA. He has studied and performed with UCB, Improv Olympic, Second City and Seattle’s Unexpected Productions. Show credits include Opening Night The Improvised Musical (Second City) Quick and Funny Musicals (UCB) The Deltones (Improv Olympic) and a two-year run in the musical comedy Trump in Space at Second City. He has guested with the incomparable Ben Bromfield and Libby Ward singing jazz tunes at The Varnish in Downtown LA. You can also hear him collaborating with SNL cast member Aristotle Athari on a recent episode of This American Laugh on Will Ferrell’s Big Money Players Network. TV acting credits include Scrubs (ABC), Chelsea (Netflix), The Tonight Show (NBC) and The Lion Guard (Disney). IG: @scottpalmason

Greg Smith

Garrett

Greg is an actor, director, writer, musician, and songwriter from Detroit. He’s been on TV shows like The Late Late Show With James Corden (CBS), Hollywood Darlings (Pop), and My Haunted House (Lifetime), and in feature films like Paradox Lost (dir. Dennis Curlett). He’s a member of UCB’s Quick And Funny Musicals and performs in their house improv teams. His directorial work, including short films, web series episodes, music videos, and Internet content, has been featured in Vulture, WhoHaha, Huffington Post, film festivals, and as a Vimeo Staff Pick. He’s also directed live works for the Hollywood Fringe Festival, Rockwell Table & Stage, and at the Upright Citizens Brigade Theatre. He’s written for TV shows like The Core (Shudder) and The Recruit (CBS). He’s written and performed songs for places like the Story Pirates Podcast and College Humor. Tony Gonzalez

Ensemble

Tony,  one of SWP’s two composers, is originally from Texas where he garnered a love a for the art of singing, stagecraft, and songwriting. After completing his Master of Music degree at IU in Bloomington, IN, where he pursued a career in opera, Tony switched gears in Los Angeles by working for independent songwriters and accompanying live comedy and indie theater. Eventually, he serendipitously connected with Sam Johnides, and the two have been collaborators ever since. Their most recent collaborations include their original musical Annabella, which ran for two sold-out runs in the LA area; Trump in Space, which ran for two years at the Second City Hollywood; and Bachelor: the Unauthorized Musical Parody which premiered through Right Angle Entertainment in Chicago. Supportive White Parents marks one of their more heartfelt and poppy musical scores, and Tony can’t wait for audiences of every cultural heritage to enjoy the journey Joy goes on in this incredibly funny and moving show.
